From ‘Education begins at home’ to ‘I was born intelligent, education ruined me’, a lot has been said about education, but the lesser talked about thing is “Education for All”.
It has been too long to have had the socialists and the Marxists around, to see people talking about equality and harmony and yet to have so much of illiteracy, unemployment, corruption, & the criminal scene.
Even if we concentrate on the scenario of India only we would be able to find innumerable examples of illiterate men, of literate and yet uneducated and of the special category people who hold high degrees and yet are uneducated.
In today’s society, as we all see there is a lot of difference in the rich and the poor. The rich has the capabilities to educate his children and to make them become rich themselves but on the other hand the poor is bound to make his children work like him thus increasing the wide gap between the two sections to an alarming level.
For the cleansing of the societical ailments we need a renaissance just as we once had for freedom demanding as our birthright.
Education for all means equal opportunities for everybody to pursue his/her academic dreams. It means not to make everybody able to read and write but educated. Educated in the field of history, civics, art, philosophy, pschycology etc to infuse confidence and the skill developing education of technology and management for employment. We also need to remember the most important of all education that is value education, which is lacking in the present system for great level and this lack, is the reason of pathetic present.
If we aim for providing education to all we must know the ground realities, which rise up in the materialization of all the plans. To create a scenario of ‘Education for All’, there needs to be cent percent literacy rate, primary education should be easily accessible and then a great amount of praise for the educated poors in the form of job guarantee must be provided. Institutes and organization to create and utilizes skilled labour must be opened and encouraged. We need to create a passion for education even in the rural parts of India. All this would need a lot of time, organization, leadership and absolutely a huge amount of money. We first need to quit the quota system so that we could save that money from there and utilizes it for providing ‘The Right to Education’ to the “independent” Indian people.
The day we will have ‘Education for All’ in the true sense providing everyone with best education of all types, we would be very near to make India “Gandhi ka Bharat” where there is no tear in any eye because only then we will have no unemployment and no criminal scene, only then will there be a philosophical and spiritual attainment of better standards in everybody which would make them all happy and if not happy than would at least arm them with stable mind and secure hearts.
“Education for All” is a dream for India, such a dream whose fulfillment is a must for survival and growth. Almost all the problems of the country can be solved by education, as with education there will come better citizens and thus we will be a better country all together.
