I miss your presence

When the weather is good
and the day seems pretty,
I think of you....
I miss your presence.
When the times are bad
When I am sick or sulky
and in need of affection,
I think of you....
I miss your presence.
When the world seems
a harsh competitive place
ready to annihilate
everyone who is defenceless,
I think of you....
I miss your presence.
When an early morning
makes the flock of pigeons
dance in the air above a cross road,
I think of you....
I miss your presence.
When the sun shines in my room
on a lazy october saturday afternoon,
I think of you...
I miss your presence.
When a song plays in my earphones
and takes me to a Saturday
I haven't yet come out of,
I think of you....
I miss your presence.
When I realize
that life is following a rotten pattern
and there is no magic in it to give a shiny eye,
I think of you....
I miss your presence.
When I think of the things I have
and the things I am struggling for,
I realise the futility of efforts
in finding what I really want
as I think of you....
I miss your presence.
When I reflect on my past,
I realise that the spark I have been searching for
was found on a Friday
and I think of you....
I miss your presence.
When many dusty office files need urgent disposal
and life seems meaningless in this chaos,
I look outside the window,
I think of you.....
I miss your presence.
When useless and deafening cacophony
makes it difficult for the mind
to focus on anything,
I think of you....
I miss your presence.
When a slight moment of peace
comes in the usual chaos,
I get lost
as I think of you....
I miss your presence.
When the deepest slumber is on,
somewhere my conscience knows
that you are awake
and it asks
if you said something
and I wake up.
Whether there is a messege or not,
I think of you in that dead of the night.
I miss your presence.
A million times in a day,
I check my phone,
I think of you,
I miss your presence.
When realisations
of being homeless and lonely
strike to me
and I feel vulnerable,
I think of you....
I miss your presence.
When I look at the irony of my life
that I have everything I don't want
and don't have anything that I want,
I think of the time when this dichotomy
was resolved by your presence.
I think of you....
I miss your presence.
When glimpses of those magical moments
suddenly invade my conscious effort to work
and do what the world expects
I can't help but think of you.....
I miss your presence.
Other couples,
movies, Songs,
Youtube, radio,
streets, cafes, corners,
theatres, parking spaces,
cab rides, auto rides,
cross roads, road crossings,
day of the week, time of the day,
what all and what not
reminds me of you...
I think of you....
I miss your presence.
A little girl
who looks and talks like her mother
sends me in a thought spiral,
I think of you....
I miss your presence.
